Don’t expect a review of the Lion King remake

Leo.jpg

Just figure i’d say it fiy, but don’t expect a review of The Lion King “live-action” (whatever the fuck it is) remake anytime soon. I refuse, after seeing the Dumbo live-action i’ve basically had enough, Disney clearly doesn’t care at all, no need to, so why bother? The dobloons will pour in anyway.

I’m not saying i won’t review it EVER, i’m saying i’m not seeing it in theathers, maybe in a couple years or if a want to go on a “live-action remake” review spree, these movies aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, come on.

Sorry, i just can’t force myself to care, even for a quick EXPRESSO review, it ain’t worth just to say  Kemono Friends characters emote better.

I’ll have a review of another recent italian horror movie, so look forward to that.

Bye!

A Star Is Born rapid thoughts and upcoming stuff

I don’t have the time to do even an Expresso review of A Star Is Born, so i’m just gonna say this: i didn’t knew it was a “remake” of an older movie (which i never heard about before), but i was favorably surprised, it’s really, really good. The last act was kinda slow, but still, i encourage you go see it in theathers (or catch it later on VOD, here in Italy premiered 3 days ago), even if you’re not big on this kind of story, because i sure as hell wasn’t.

That said, i have an Expresso review of something more proper for the month, and maybe something special, something extreme…

EXPRESSO reviews coming soon!

If you like short reviews more, well, i’ll be posting them via my “EXPRESSO” column, you can learn more in the dedicated page, but it’s basically 300 words long review, with a coffee themed vote. We’ll be starting tomorrow (or today, depending where you are right now) with the Expresso review of “Hereditary”, which came out not too long ago in italian cinemas.

Bye!

What to expect (columns, review formats)

Okay, let’s get to what you’ll see on the blog, column-wise.

The main feature of the blog will be “Wise Reviews” (yeah, a bit self-aggrandizing, but i couldn’t come up with something better AND shorter than that), full lenght reviews, i’m not gonna do separate review columns for animation, movies, tv series, videogames. Not here at least.

I will have info about the way i obtained/watched the opus i’m reviewing, and list specific info for books and comics (language, publishing press, etc.), and i will later organize them by format (videogames, tv series, movies, i’m not counting anymation as a separate category, because despite lot of nuances that characterize and distance it from live-action, it isn’t a separate genre in itself), maybe.

I’m also gonna feature EXPRESSO here as well, meaning that i will also have reviews in a short format (300 words for review), like i used to and still do for my italian blogs, mostly to give a quick review of something new/recently released in cinema here in Italy, distribuited via Netflix or screened in some capacity in my area.

About the pacing,  for the meantime i’ll post a review when i can, i’m not gonna promise to do 2 articles a week when i know i can’t pull it off (since i still write for 2 other blogs of mine), but i want to make a schedule of sorts, and i hope i can deliver content on a regular basis at the beginning of september.

I’m trying to get some gear to record and capture footage, i wanna do video content eventually,  but i need a new pc, which i can’t afford at the moment. is in the works, but not right now.

For now, it’s all i have to say. You’ll learn more by reading, anyway. 🙂
