What a waste of time.
I could have made a longer lead up to that, but sadly this one it’s just a sour disappointment, even going in just expecting it to be an enjoyable teen slasher set in an aquatic park, setting the bar fairly low but in a way that’s reasonable.
Cool title, but i’m not being too hyperbolic when i say it feels like a waste of time, period, since 80 % of Aquaslash it’s build up for the slipslide kills, and by “build up” i mean a lot of exagerrated romantic drama with deliberately exaggerated douchy teens and asshole adults characters, and a lot of cliches, which would be fine if the pay off was worth it… it ain’t.
It’s nowhere as good as it needs, and i’m not really talking about the kills and the gore, the latter is good, definitely there are some good gore effects, the kills (or kill as the main one is the same one repeated) are ok (though they could have easily been made better by the power of using more killing tools/traps), but it takes the movie 50 goddamn minutes to even get to that, and if you expect a big twist at the end to make the rest of the movie make more sense or get better..
… you don’t get that either, since the reveal or identity of the killer doesn’t make much sense until the end, where we’re shown her backstory and thus the reason why the killer would do it… so yeah, no one would have suspected that specific character since we were never given any reason to even do so, we were shown no motives or reasons why it should be her.
So yeah, a completely pointless twist.

This isn’t so much a “Friday The 13th but in aquatic park”, but more a “shit Sleepaway Camp” that can’t even manage to have a twist ending worth remembering.
It’s kinda odd the deliberately absurd characters and their asshole behavior are the more entertaining part of the film, despite/because some of the misplaced serious scenes it has, with the final sequence of gore galore being just a bandaid over the gaping necrotized flaws of the film.
The goofy over-to-the top nonsensical quality (and the trashy nudity) just ain’t enough to gloss over the many flaws on naked (pun not intended but i’m not changing it) display.
What a pointless dud of a movie.
A shame, really, could have been a fun little teen slasher, instead of being a subpar trashy misfire where they should have either put more budget or focus on the gore after marketing the entire thing on a kill that just happens at the end and just makes you wonder if “that’s it?”. It is.
It will kill 90 minutes but unless you got it via a subscription to a horror channel or something (i did get a cheap Blu-Ray copy of it years ago, myself), i simply wouldn’t bother investing any money.
Or time.
