Summer Of EDF redux, Shark-A-Palooza, Idol Honses, Switch 2 and One Piece August

Update time!

Since i’m knee deep in thesis work which it’s gonna take my entire summer and up to October, i had to make some changes to the schedule up to August.

Due to personal stuff, i will be away for thi weekend, hence some EXPRESSO reviews are gonna be late or aren’t gonna happen at all, some were not gonna regardless, for example don’t expect a review of Final Destination Bloodlines as i really haven’t kept up with the series, at all, and this ain’t a reboot, it’s a direct sequel continuining from FD 5, but i will see and review Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning (aka Dead Reckoning Part 2), with some luck i can catch a preview screening for that.

Surprisingly there’s also a Largo Winch movie (this will mean something only to “Europeans” comics fans, maybe) here… but its a sequel to another Largo Winch movie they made in 2008, technically also the sequel to 2011 Largo Winch 2, so it’s the last in a trilogy that just got home video releases (not really publicized at all, too, just put out there) until now here, one i didn’t know it even existed until now.

You know, now i’m kinda tempted to see the movie anyway to see if it made sense to release it as they did. Kinda.

Expect one of Umamusume Pretty Derby too, as the original smarthphone game is finally hitting a global release in late June, i’m gonna be ready.

Summer of EDF is still gonna happen, but will be in “mini” format, meaning 2 reviews instead of the planned 4, and i guess that means we’ll still be doing it next summer, so…

On the flipside, there are gonna be more shark movie reviews, alongside some anime series’ reviews.

Musou May is back on the menù

yes, indeed, as promised, Musou May is back this year, with a mix of rewrite and brand new reviews all throught the month! Also the planned works for the summer most likely won’t change much, i’ll make a post about those in more (any) detail later down the month.

Up The WAZOOH! (Remastered)

So finally they announced a release date – after dealing it months ago – for that remaster of Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos, Argonaut Games came back from the dead last summer just for it, as in its gonna launch on the 2nd of April, so in a couple of weeks it will be out on pretty much everything.

Digitally, as expected, but you could also try preordering physical PS5-Switch US copies of the game on Rock It Games (not sponsored, i found it linked on the Gematsu article of this new release date announcement), if you have enough dough and interest for the ol’ Croc.

I could try rewrite/rework my old review for the old incarnation of Platformation i did for the occasion, bu i won’t: first, i wanna actually replay it (i have the old PS1 disc version of that and the sequel), write a brand new review for the game, BUT i hoped the delay would push it further down this year, since i already had more than enough to do.

Also, since most of the month will be dedicated (as decided months ago) to Asterix & Obelix, mostly the platforming titles of the XXL series, it would be overkill for Platformation Time Again.

So that review will be done, eventually, maybe when-if they remaster Croc 2.

Don’t expect an EXPRESSO review anytime soon of the new live action Snow White thing with the uncanny valley dwarves, i’m keep gonna pretend these fuckin movies don’t exist, as i have for a while now.

I will have a review of the Minecraft live action film out, hopefully on the week it debuts here ( it comes out on April 3).

Down With The Sickness (& Flood)

Sorry for EXPRESSO reviews being scarcer than usual these weeks, i have been sick, plus in my region there had been floods (i’m fine), so for a couple days schools and most shops (including cinemas) closed, but it was brief, so i’m gonna try to catch up to the latest releases in cinema here, and i will be dipping in Netflix’s catalogue as well, though some EXPRESSO reviews are gonna be delayed a bit anyway (like the one for Oz Perkins’ The Monkey), and i wanted to also review some gachas like Girls Frontline 2, but i had technical issues, not much time for that anwyay, and the PC release was confusing, so i dunno. Maybe, maybe not.

This ain’t gonna affect Giant Monster March full lenght pieces, the next one is releasing in a couple of days as planned.

Pirate Warriors 4 Next Gen and somehow MORE DLC

I will admit, i completely missed this trailer, as i did with Warriors Abyss announcement, i was made aware by a newsletter while checking the mail, and for reasons i will explain, i’m a bit TOO late, but i also kinda had to, as i didn’t rule out a situation like this.

There just so many times i can write “i can’t believe we’re still talking about Pirate Warriors 4”, so yes, i can believe, and will, since we’re here again.

And yes, they will do about anything than actually make or even hint at a Pirate Warriors 5, or actually do a proper expansion, like and old school Xtreme Legends things, with redone old stages that were in PW3 but not in PW 4, as we already discussed in detail.

Hex Maniacs, Shreks, and the Tecmo Koei Warriors From Hell (Deathstalker not included)

Time for more unasked general ramble posts, mother’s favorites.

So we finally got that Pokemon Presents (AKA the Pokemon Direct) a few days ago, and alongside them bringing back a successor of sorts for Pokemon Stadium (might as well, since the NSO rerelease of the N64 games are just emulated versions that can’t connect to any active Pokemon system/software/archive-bank in order to substitute the original “Transfer Pak and Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow cartridge” method to import , hence are truncated experiences), the highlight was undoubtly the first actual trailer and gameplay footage for Legends Pokemon ZA, which will bring us back to Pokemon X & Y region, Kalos, now expanded and incorporating wild/unkempt areas for the wild Pokemon to roam about.

And count on the Pokemon fanbase to find what’s likely the new design for the Hex Maniac trainer class in a ridiculously tiny smidge on the Kalos map image they revealed.

F. K.

I was about to ramble on about the Switch 2 reveal and ramble on some upcoming (sooner or later) reviews, but then i was scrolling Twitter (yeah, i know), and heard almost live of David Lynch’s passing. RIP, i know he will, but what the fuck.

I should stop here, but i will ramble on a bit on what’s coming next month, since i don’t want this to be just a “RIP post”.

as previously announced, he rewrite will come out in a couple of days, when we will resume regular publication, and hopefully soon i can hit the cinemas again and review stuff like the recently release new Wolf Man movie by Leigh Whannell, and maybe catch up on stuff like Zemeckis’ Here. Maybe.

I will have a relatively early EXPRESSO review out for Companion, that much i know, i would have liked to have a review for that “defunct” Marvel Avengers live-service thingie since the new Captain America film is coming mid-February here….but i got so bored with it months ago and i couldn’t yet muster back any will to slum through the side sludge, so instead i will unearth a relatively new shitfest from Italy that i’m sure you won’t have heard, even if you lived here, let’s just say it’s related to that fuckin atrocious Avatar parody, Anatar.

Monster March is planned as usual, and i have plans for Aprils regarding a certain famous French duo, but they aren’t finalized… yet.

In the meantime, i’ll have a toast in Lynch’s honour.

Bye.

The January Uni Break und The Mini Rewritecalypse

As previously announced, i’m gonna take a break because i’m busy beyond belief with universital woes and such things, so from today until the 19th of January, full lenght reviews are gonna be a no show, and – again, as i previously promised – to avoid stretching the hiatus further i will be doing rewrites of some older reviews stuck on old italian blogs that could use a do over.

EXPRESSO reviews will come out as usual.

From February we’ll resume with the regular schedule.
